The rubber footwear that we know as the ‘wellington boot’, first came on the scene in 1817, and is connected to Arthur Wellesley, the first Duke of Wellington. The Duke directed his then shoemaker to adapt the 18th century Hessian boot, and create it in calfskin leather.
It evolved into the rubber boot, around 1853, and by the end of the war in 1945, the wellington boot had become very popular for wet weather wear. Today you will find the boots in a myriad of colours and design patterns. Our purpose, for your enjoyment, is to bring as many different dog designs that we can find for you.
